Well, the first method is as simple as opening the Word file with
Microsoft Word Online
, but for this we must first store the document that we want to open in
OneDrive
(Microsoft cloud storage system with 15 GB free)
or we can copy the content of our file in Word and paste it into Word Online.
Once we have the Word document open we go to the Microsoft Word Online menu called

If you have Microsoft Office installed on your computer it can be more or less complicated depending on the version you have installed, but the basic steps are:
-
Microsoft Office 2003: there is no choice but to resort to the Word Online method described in the beginning of the article, since this version does not allow saving as PDF.
-
Microsoft Office 2007: in this case we have to install an add-in for Office 2007 that we can download from
this link
.
-
Microsoft Office 2010 and 2013: these versions already have the option to save as PDF, accessible from the
Archivo → Crear documento PDF/XPS
menu
Archivo → Crear documento PDF/XPS
.
If we do not have Microsoft Office on our PC, we can use a similar but free office suite such as
LibreOffice
or
OpenOffice
. I will not go into the eternal discussion of whether LibreOffice or OpenOffice is better, but if I can say that I have LibreOffice installed and the Writer program
(equivalent to Microsoft Word)
has the option to export as PDF in the
Archivo
menu.
