By default, Windows 11 computers go to sleep mode , but this can be disabled . Obviously they enter this mode to save energy, something that comes in quite handy in most cases..
However, in many situations we can leave the computer working on something, perhaps rendering a video or processing anything and we get up to do other activities while we wait. It wouldn't be a good idea for me to go into suspension and leave our job halfway, right?
To avoid this, we will have to disable the sleep mode in Windows 11 and voila, it is very easy to achieve.
Disable sleep mode from Settings
The first thing we will have to do is start the Windows Configuration application, for this we will have to press Windows + i on the keyboard. We can also right-click on the "Start" button and then choose Settings..
Once we are in the Configuration interface, we will have to click on "System" in the list on the left side. Now on the right side we go to "Power and battery".
Now in the Power and battery screen, we will have to click on "Screen and suspension". If our computer works with battery, then we will see a total of 4 options, in case it is desktop, we will see two options..
If we want to keep our computer awake, in the case of a laptop, even when we do not interact and use battery power. We will have to change to "On battery power, put my device to sleep after" and in the drop-down menu we choose "Never".
We must bear in mind that, if it never goes to sleep and we are on battery power, it will continue to consume battery when we do not use the computer. This means that we will not be able to save battery.
If we want to prevent it from going into suspension when it is connected to the current, then we click on the drop-down menu when it is plugged in and we put "Never" in the option to put it to sleep.
Another option we have is to prevent our computer from turning off the screen in any kind of situation; setting the option "Turn off my screen after" and choose "Never".
Once it is configured, we close this window and the computer will be configured to never "sleep" or go to sleep. Obviously we can put the device in suspension whenever we want by pressing the start icon and then selecting suspend.
