Change button assignment in the PS4 system settings
Change button assignment in the PS4 system settings
The menu for the key assignment of the PS4 controller can be found somewhat hidden in the system settings of the console under the item "Accessibility". There you select the sub-item "Key assignment" and then check the box "Activate customized key assignment". The previously hidden option "Adjust key assignment" is then visible and can be selected.
In the submenu that then pops up, all buttons of the PS4 controller can now be reassigned. Simply select the desired button and select another button in the sidebar on the right. Depending on the selection, the PS4 also automatically changes the assignment of the other buttons, so that there is no double assignment. When you are finished with the button assignment, you only have to confirm the selection. If you want to reset the default settings, you have to choose "Reset".
Warning: If you change the button assignment for the buttons in the system settings of the PS4, this of course applies to all games that you play. The game itself, however, will still show the default usage in the options. So if the game asks you to press square, but you put the button on L2, you have to press L2 of course.
