According to many customers on social media, Amazon has started delaying some orders for Xbox Series Xs, explaining that the arrival of consoles could potentially not arrive until December 31.

These emails explain that Amazon will receive more inventory for the more powerful version of Microsoft's new console at the end of November and December. He estimates that the latest delivery date for Series X pre-orders would be December 31. This is the only estimate the company has given so far, although it explains that most deliveries will be done long before that..
This was not unexpected as all online distributors sent emails similar to this one in September and October, advising that the large number of pre-orders could delay deliveries. Amazon sent out warnings for both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X pre-orders in September, advising of this exact scenario.
Unfortunately, that means hundreds of games will still be waiting at least a few more weeks after the Xbox Series X and S officially launch before they get their next-gen boxes. Some local stores will have limited stocks of the Series X and PS5 available at launch on November 10-12, but this will have to be seen on a case-by-case basis..
