How can I turn off DMs on Instagram?

Best answer

Maybe you are busy and just can't be bothered by Instagram right now. Or maybe someone is particularly annoying. If so, you can turn off individual DMs, which means you won't see notifications when you get a new message.

Just click on that person's thread, then click the I button at the top right. The Details page will appear, allowing you to Mute Messages and Mute Video Chat .
