The registry or the registration database centrally stores important data on Windows and the installed programs. This data can be changed via the registry editor. This can be helpful if the corresponding function does not appear in the program itself. But be careful: If you change the wrong settings, this can also lead to (serious) problems with Windows and its components. We'll show you how to access the registry under Windows 10.

How to start the registry

Enter " regedit " in the start menu . Then click with the right mouse button on the point " Registry Editor " and select "Run as administrator ". You may now have to confirm the opening by entering your admin data. Usually these correspond to your login data for the computer.

2nd step:

You have now successfully opened the registry. Now you can make the settings you want.
