The travel platform Airbnb offers its customers accommodations from private hosts worldwide. Travel accommodation can be conveniently booked online and paid for there. In this article you can find out how exactly the payment on Airbnb works and which payment methods are available to you.
How to pay for your booking on Airbnb
After successful registration, a payment method will be stored in your Airbnb account. The payment options vary depending on the country of registration. The following payment methods are accepted in Germany:
- Credit cards
- Some debit cards
- Apple Pay and Google Pay
- PayPal
- Instant bank transfer
You store the desired payment method in your customer account and save the information.
If you book an accommodation now, the payment method you have chosen will be debited with the amount due after receipt of the booking confirmation - completely automatically. The money then first goes to Airbnb, where the fees are paid. The operator states a service fee of less than 14.2% of the booking amount. This amount is displayed to the user when booking.
The host does not receive payment until 24 hours after the guest has been met. This is to ensure the quality of the offers.
