Whether you can share your Netflix account depends on your subscription. The number of people you can share your Netflix account with depends on your Netflix subscription. You can choose between three subscription models:
- The basic subscription allows you to stream series and films on just one device and with one profile.
- With the standard subscription , you can use Netflix on two devices at the same time - and in HD quality too.
- With the premium subscription , Netflix even runs on four devices, with four profiles at the same time and in Ultra HD.
If you share a Netflix account with other people, please note the following : If several users in a household are streaming films on Netflix on several devices at the same time, your Internet connection must be very fast. Otherwise there may be malfunctions or error messages during playback. In addition, Netflix can run on a maximum of four devices (premium subscription) at the same time via one account. So if a user is logged into two devices, another user may no longer be able to log in.
Sharing a Netflix account - is it allowed?
According to the terms and conditions of the streaming provider, sharing a Netflix account is only allowed if all people using an account live in one household . That means: for families, partners or flat shares living together, sharing is not a problem. However, according to the Netflix terms and conditions, you are not allowed to share your account with friends who live in another apartment.
So far, Netflix has never really prevented sharing with other people. In the USA, however, the first tests were carried out in early 2021 for functions that should make sharing across different households impossible. 1st step:
To share a Netflix account, all new users need the login details of the original Netflix account. These consist of an email address and a password. As a newly added person, you should create your own profile after logging in . To do this, simply tap on the profile icon in the top right corner of Netflix and go to " Account ". 2nd step:
