Would you like to activate your numeric keypad in Windows without using the Num Lock? We'll show you how..

To activate the numeric keypad, simply press the [Num] key. If this does not work, for example because your key is damaged, there is still a way to activate the number pad. This will also help you if you connect an external number pad and it is not recognized and activated directly. Find out how to fix the problems in this tip.

1st step

Open the " Run program " by pressing the [ Windows ] and [ R ] keys at the same time . Enter " regedit " in the " Open " field and click " OK ". Answer the following security question with " Yes ".

2nd step

Click the “ HKEY_USERS ” folder by clicking the arrow . Several sub-folders open . First open " .DEFAULT " and then "Control Panel ". The “ InitialKeyboardIndicators ” file is located in the “ Keyboard ” folder . Select this with a double click .

3rd step

A new window will open . Change the value from " 2147483648" to " 2 147483650 " and then click on " OK ". If the value is different, just add 2. If the value was previously " 0 ", for example , change it to " 2 ". The numeric keypad is permanently activated from the next restart .

1. Press the [ Windows ] and [ R ] keys at the same time .
2. Enter regedit in the " Open " field and click " OK ".
3. Answer the following security question with " Yes ".
4. Click the left next to the folder " HKEY_USERS " on the arrow . The same applies to the " .DEFAULT " and " Control Panel " sub- folders .
5. Open the " Keyboard " folder and select the " InitialKeyboardIndicators " file with a double click .
6. A new window is opening up. Change the value from " 2147483648 " to " 2147483650 " and click on " OK ". If there is a different value, add 2 to it. For example, if the value was previously " 0 ", change it to " 2 ". After a restart , the numeric keypad is permanently activated .
