The Apple ID is a central email address with which you can log in to Apple services such as iCloud and on your iPhone. You often keep it for a long period of time - sometimes longer than an email address. If you change your active email address, you may want to change your Apple ID as well. You can find out how easy it is in these instructions.

How to change your Apple ID

You can only change your Apple ID via the web browser. This works the same on the computer as well as on the iPhone or iPad.

Tip: It is often recommended that you sign out of all of your Apple devices before changing your Apple ID email address . This can be useful as a precautionary measure to avoid problems. However, the step is usually not absolutely necessary . Especially if you synchronize a large number of photos or files via iCloud Drive, the process would take significantly longer due to the synchronization when logging out and logging in. To be on the
safe side, if you'd like to log out, tap your name in Settings on the iPhone at the top and select " Log out " below . On the Mac, click on “ Apple ID ” in the system settings, click on “ Overview ” in the navigation bar on the left and on “ Log out ... ” at the bottom . 1st step:

Open the Web site appleid.apple.com and log in with your current Apple ID and your password to.

2nd step:

In the “ Account ” section, click the “ Edit ” button .

3rd step:

Then go to " Change Apple ID ... " and enter the new email address in the text field . Then select " Continue ".

4th step:

If necessary, confirm your entry by entering your Apple ID password .

5th step:

You will now receive an email with a confirmation code at the new email address. Enter this code in your browser on the website and click " Continue ".

6th step:

Your Apple ID has now been changed. Click Done to finalize the change. You can now simply " unsubscribe " from the website .

quick start Guide

1. Log on to the website appleid.apple.com with your current Apple ID at.
2. Under “ Account ” click on the “ Edit ” button .
3. Select " Change Apple ID ... ", enter a new email address and confirm with your password if necessary .
4. Enter the verification code that you will receive by email at the new address and click " Continue ".
5. Your Apple ID will now be changed. Click Done to complete the change.
