Google Street View is an online service that allows you to display specific locations in a 360-degree view. Since its release in 2007, the service has grown considerably, so that 30% of all search results in Google Maps are available in Street View. In terms of data protection law, there have often been problems. If you do not want you or your house to be shown publicly on Street View, you can file an objection in order to protect your privacy.

You are almost done. A new web page with the street view is displayed. This is your last opportunity to adjust the view again . At this point, you can tell Google what to obscure - a person, your house, a car or license plate, or any other object - and explain which area is affected. If you are satisfied, click on " Submit ". Google will then take care of your request and notify you when it has been processed.

quick start Guide

  1. First enter the address of your request in Google Maps in the search field at the top left.
  2. Then switch to Street View by clicking on the orange man in the lower right corner of the screen. Then select one of the blue marked streets that appear on the map to enter Street View mode.
  3. Then adjust your view by moving your mouse around. When you have a clear view of the item you want to obscure, click the " Report a Problem " button in the lower right corner of the screen .
  4. On the new website you can now adjust the area again that contains the object that you want to make unrecognizable. Then select below what kind of object it is and provide more detailed information so that it can be clearly identified.
  5. If you are satisfied, click on " Submit ".
