SEO tools to protect our content and web design

Google penalizes duplicate content as it is redundant for the user, many websites have lost positioning and prestige even though they have done a great job of SEO, but do not take care of the content.

Always after writing a content is important to verify that it is not duplicated on another website, for this it is important to use tools to help us verify the content

One of these tools is www.copyscape.com , which allows you to track the content of our website and see if it is duplicated or even copied on another website. Here we put an example of a blog and we see how the result shows multiple copies on different web, probably all its content is copied from other web.

Google Webmastertools also audits our website and warns us if we have duplicate content, title or meta-descriptions. Google does not consider duplicate content to discussion forums, web content that link to different URLs, if I use 2 different keywords to link the same content it is not considered duplicate.

If for some reason you were forced to duplicate content (example publish an important notice that publishes many web, you can put in the html code the meta tag r obots noindex

<head>
<META NAME = "robots" CONTENT = "noindex, nofollow">
</ head>

This will tell search engines not to index, or crawl this page or section of the web.

Another interesting way to know if we have been plagiarized is to copy a paragraph of an article and paste it into the search engine.

We do a test with the phrase "Experts in computer security advise users to submit".

We see that in the result there are several websites with exactly copied content, Google assumes that the first place is the original content.

Protection against plagiarism

The legal aspects to register the authorship of a website varies according to each country. But there is a free online solution called safecreative.org.

Here you can register artistic and literary works web design, software, writing, logos, among other things. You can register for example a jpg with the design of your website. At the end of the registration you will get a barcode and a pdf certificate that identifies the intellectual property and you can put it on your website.

What to do if I detect that my content has been plagiarized?

First collect evidence, screenshots, links.
Establish a diplomatic communication with the person to inform him of the fraud and ask him to mention the source of the content or remove it. If an agreement is not reached, it will be a question of evaluating whether legal actions should be established or not. Advice to safecreative people or seek legal advice.

The registration of work allows a legal framework for all those who do not have economic resources. You can also choose other types of CopyLeft, GPL or Creative Commons licenses, which are free licenses that you can use in web developments
