The health app on Apple's iPhones records - if activated - a range of health data on the movement of users. This also includes a pedometer and the resulting kilometers. In this article, we will clarify whether the stride length can be set manually.

Manually set the stride length in Apple Health - is that possible?

The short answer to this question is: No, it is not possible to manually set the stride length on the iPhone . The device automatically calculates the length from the movement profile and your height. This not only makes it easier to use, it is sometimes even more accurate. Because not only a fixed stride length, but also a variable length depending on the walking pace is taken into account. However , the stride length can still be adjusted via the body size . For the most precise mileage possible, you should save your exact height in the health app. You can find out how this works very easily in the following guide.

Follow the step-by-step instructions or see the Quick guide ..

1st step:

Open the Health app on your iPhone. On the overview page, tap your profile picture in the upper right corner .

4th step:

Now scroll down a little and save your height next to " Height ". Then tap on " Done " at the top . The app now automatically calculates the exact step length and will in future take it into account when outputting the kilometers you have walked.
