The "announce calls" function gives you the advantage that the Siri voice assistant informs you of who is contacting you when you receive a call. To do this, the number must of course be saved in the contacts. The feature is deactivated by default, but once activated, the function is particularly useful when you cannot look at your display. In the following, we will explain how to activate the function on your iPhone .

How to set up Announce Calls

The function can be found somewhat hidden in the settings. You can find out how to get there in our step-by-step instructions or in the quick start guide ..

1st step:

You now have several options to choose from:
  1. " Always ": Siri announces all calls from your contact details with the associated first and last name. This also means that calls over the loudspeaker are always announced, regardless of location and situation.
  2. " Headphones and car ": This option tells you the caller whenever the iPhone is connected to the car's hands-free system via Bluetooth or you are currently using headphones. This is particularly useful because you do not have to look at your display while you are in traffic, but Siri announces the name to you.
  3. " Headphones only ": If you do not want to use the option in the car, there is the third option, which only gives you the name of the caller if you are wearing headphones. Incidentally, the headphones can be connected via jack or Lightning or via Bluetooth. Your iPhone will register this automatically.
When you've decided on one of the options, tap on it.

quick start Guide

  1. Open the settings .
  2. Tap on " Phone ".
  3. Then select " Announce Calls ".
  4. Choose one of the three options and tap on it.
