Whether for private use or for the classroom: it has never been easier to create and play your own quiz online. We tried two tools for you. You can find out how they work in the following article.

Create quizzes online with Google Forms

With Google's survey tool Google Forms, not only surveys but also quizzes can be created. However, a Google account is required for use.

Follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the quick start guide .

1st step:

Log into your Google account and go to the Google Forms website . You can then first create an empty form there .

2nd step:

In the next section you can name your quiz and come up with quiz questions that you then ask in the " Description " field . To the right of this you can set which question type it should be. In our case we chose multiple choice questions. To then provide appropriate answers to the question , add options in the lower section. These options represent the possible answers.

3rd step:

Once you have created all the answers, switch to the " Settings " tab and activate the " Make a quiz " switch . Then switch back to the " Questions " tab .

4th step:

Now go to " Answer key " in the lower area to mark the correct answer. Click on the correct answer and give the answer a score . When that's done, click " Done ".

5th step:

Now go to " Send " to forward the created quiz. You have the option to send the quiz via email or via a direct link. In the " Answers " section you can then see which answers the participants gave to the questions you asked and which points were achieved.

The family-friendly quiz tool Kahoot offers a simple and intuitive interface with which you can create entertaining quizzes in no time and play together.

1st step:

Log on to the Web site Kahoot "and then click Create Kahoot ".

2nd step:

Here click on " create " or select one of the templates .

3rd step:

Enter the quiz question and the four possible answers here . The correct answer select by clicking on the answer, so the green check mark appears. Add more answers as needed. You also have the option of choosing between quiz questions with answer options, true or false questions and other question models . When you have finished creating the quiz, click " Save " in the upper right corner .

4th step:

Now of course you want to play your quiz too: To do this, click on the " Play " button and select one of the two game variants . A game pin is then generated. With this pin all participants can take part in the quiz. You can do this on Kahoot.it as well as in the Kahoot app.

Quick start: Create quizzes with Google Forms

1. Log into your Google account and go to the Google Forms website .
2. Create a blank project .
3. Enter your quiz name and questions . Select the type of questions . Multiple choice questions are available here.
4. Enter answer options, including the correct answer, under " Add option ".
5. Activate the " Make a quiz " switch under " Settings ".
6. Go back to the questions and go to " Answer Key ". Now click on the correct answer and give a score for this answer. Then click " Done ".
7. To share the quiz, click " Send ". Here you can either share the quiz by email or send a direct link.
8. In order to evaluate the result of the answers, you can click on the tab " Answers ". There you will find an overview of the participants' answers.

Quick guide: Create quizzes with Kahoot

1. Visit the Kahoot website and log in.
2. Click on " Create a kahoot ".
3. Enter the question above and four possible answers below . Then click on the correct answer to mark it as such.
4. Add more questions to the quiz as needed using the left side navigation .
5. You can set a time limit for each question in the menu on the right . You can also change the question type (quiz, true or false, etc.) here.
6. When you've added all of the questions, click Done to save your quiz. You can then start the game by clicking on " play ". In the next window click on " Host " to share the game interactively. A game pin is generated with which the participants can get to the game and get started.
