QR codes are practical little helpers in everyday life: Scanned in with your smartphone, you can reach websites, apps, Facebook profiles or WiFi access in no time at all. With free online services, you can easily and quickly create your own QR codes and share them with your friends. In this article, we'll show you how to turn a URL into code.

How to create your own QR code

In our instructions we use "QRCode Monkey" as an example to create a QR code. The website is free of charge, works without registration and is equally easy to use on a PC and smartphone. But there are also many other similar offers. Follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the brief instructions .

1st step:

Open the QRCode Monkey website on your PC or smartphone.

Add the desired web address in the " Your URL " section . You also have the option of displaying other content as a QR code. Simply select the desired category in the menu bar . You can make further settings in the menus below, such as adjusting colors or adding a personal logo.

In the right-hand section you can see a preview of your QR code and below the option to adjust its size using the slider. When you're done editing, click the green " Create QR Code " button ...

4th step:

Wait a moment until the download window of your browser opens and then save the generated QR code file . You can then print them out or share them via Messenger or email.

quick start Guide

  1. Open the QRCode Monkey website and select the desired category of your QR code in the menu bar. In our example we use the preset category " URL ".
  2. In the " Your URL " section, add the website address you want. Make sure that you enter the URL in full. The best thing to do is to simply copy the URL from the search bar of your browser.
  3. In the right-hand section you can see a preview of your QR code and below the option to adjust its size using the slider.
  4. When you have finished editing, click the green " Create QR Code " button and then click the " PNG Download " button to the right of it .
  5. Wait a moment until the download window of your browser opens and then save the generated QR code file , which you can then print or forward.
