Roaming is the ability of your smartphone to receive / make calls abroad or to send data via LTE or HSPA, i.e. to use the mobile Internet. Roaming within EU countries has been free since June 2017. However, this does not apply to non-EU countries in which data roaming continues to be associated with high costs. In our article, we will show you how to deactivate data roaming on Android and iOS on your mobile phone.

First open the settings of your smartphone. These can be found either on the start page of your mobile phone or in the app drawer.

2nd step:

Tap Connections . We use a modified Android version from Samsung in our article. With Stock Android, this option is stored under " Network & Internet " or a similar description.

Now tap on " Mobile Networks " or " Cellular Network ".

Here you will find a slider for " data roaming ". Deactivate this. When the slider is white, roaming is switched off. Blue means that roaming is activated.
