A cache is a set of temporary files used by a program or the operating system. Windows is full of temporary files that help the operating system work. Occasionally, however, these file caches can become corrupted or so large that they affect your computer's performance.

Clear cache with Disk Cleanup

With the built-in Disk Cleanup, you can easily get rid of files that are inadvertently taking up your storage space. Follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the brief instructions .

1st step:

Enter into the Windows search bar " Disk Cleanup on" and click on the same search results.

2nd step:

Now make sure that the " C: " option is selected under " Drive " . Then click OK .

3rd step:

Then select the options " Temporary files " and " Thumbnails " under " Files to be deleted ". Confirm again with " OK ".

4th step:

The cleanup will then start. Wait for the process to finish and all the selected files to be deleted from your computer.

Clear explorer cache

In addition to file management operations, Explorer.exe also implements the shell - the desktop, taskbar, desktop icons, and start menu are parts of the Explorer app. There are many unnecessary files that you can simply delete:

1st step:

image
Open Windows Explorer and click on " View " in the upper left corner . Then go to the " Options " button .

2nd step:

In the " General " tab, click " Delete " under " Data protection ". The file explorer history has now been cleared. Finally click on " OK ".

quick start Guide

  1. Type " disk cleanup " in the Windows search bar and click the result of the same name.
  2. Now select " C: " under " Drive " . Then click OK .
  3. Check the options " Temporary files " and " Thumbnails ". Click OK again .
  4. Finally, confirm the process with " Delete files ".
