PDF files cannot actually be changed. This is sometimes annoying if, for example, you have scanned multiple pages in the wrong order. But you don't have to scan everything again and create a new document. Instead, there are many free tools with which you can edit PDFs afterwards and also rearrange the pages. You can find out how to do this in this article.

How to sort pages in PDF

Note: We will show you the steps here using the PDF24 Creator program. However, there are other programs that you can use in a similar way to rearrange the order of the pages in a PDF document. For example CleverPDF , Adobe Acrobat and PDF Shaper .

Step 1:

Call up the "Sort PDF Pages" function of the PDF24 Creator . Open your PDF by uploading it . To do this, either drag and drop it into the dashed box or click on " Choose file " and search for your file.

Step 2:

If the upload was successful, you will now see the individual pages of your PDF below. You can move them manually using drag-and-drop and move them to a new position. Alternatively, you can select a " sort function " above your PDF . This way you can automatically sort the pages in exactly the opposite way.

Step 3:

If you are satisfied with the result, click on " Create sorted PDF " below .

Step 4:

Your order is now being processed. You can then download the result via " Download ". You can also preview it beforehand and, if necessary, " delete " all data or " restart " to sort a new PDF.

Brief instructions: Sort pages with the PDF24 Creator

1. Open the corresponding function of the PDF24 Creator . Upload your PDF, either using drag-and-drop or using " Choose file ".
2. After the upload you will see the individual pages of your PDF below. Move them manually using drag and drop . With " Select sorting function " above your PDF, you can also sort the pages in exactly the opposite way.
3. Finally, click on " Create Sorted PDF " below .
4. Your order is being processed. You can then download the result via " Download " and view it via " Preview ". You can also " Delete " all data or " Restart " to sort a new PDF.
