You will receive a document as a PDF, but you still have to make changes afterwards. You do not necessarily need a PDF reader program that may be subject to a fee. You can simply open it in Word (from version 2013) and then save it as a Word document. Should further changes be necessary, the file is available directly in .doc or .docx format. We'll show you how it's done.

Tip: If you are working with an older version of Word ( Word 2010 or older ), you can also have your PDF converted into a Word document online. For example, upload your PDF to freepdfconvert.com and then download it again as a Word file.

Convert PDF to Word

There are several ways in which you can convert a PDF file into a Word document. Word itself has its own function for this, but it doesn't always work. Sometimes something goes wrong with the formatting or the PDF file cannot be edited. Therefore, in addition to using Word's own option, you should also consider using a free online converter. These include, for example, the converter from Adobe , freepdfconvert , online2pdf or sodapdf .

But first you should try the Word function, because this way, confidential data may not even have to find its way onto the Internet. Follow our step-by-step instructions , the quick start guide or the explanatory video ..

1st step:

Start Microsoft Word and switch to the " File " tab .

2nd step:

Word will then tell you that a copy of the PDF file will be created. This means that your original PDF remains unchanged . Click " OK " to confirm this. Once Word has completed the conversion, you can edit and save the Word document as usual.
Note: When converting, formatting errors can occur and the line and page breaks in your document have to be adjusted again.

quick start Guide

  1. In Word, click the File tab .
  2. Then select " Open " and click on " Browse ".
  3. Find the PDF file you want to convert to Word and click Open .
  4. Word creates a copy of the file for conversion . Click OK to confirm . Once the document has been converted, you can edit and save it.
