It's always annoying when the crucial snapshot is then slightly blurred or at least not in focus. But with a little bit of image processing magic, many images can still be saved. To do this, you have to sharpen an image and that can be done with the GIMP, for example.

Adjust the sharpness of an image using the GIMP

1st step:

Open the photo you want to edit in GIMP. To do this, you can simply drag the file into the program. Then go to " Improve " in the menu on the " Filter " tab . There you can then click on the sub-item " Sharpen (unsharp mask) ".

A window now appears in which you can change certain settings. You can set anything between 0 and 99 as the threshold value in order to define a certain degree of sharpness. If you have set everything to your satisfaction, click on " OK ". If you are satisfied with the result, you can save the image. If you are not yet satisfied, you can simply repeat the step.
