In a recent Windows 11 Insider update, Microsoft made several interesting changes and one of these is a weather icon, much like the one we see in Windows 10 News and Interests. However, not all of us are interested in this feature and something very positive is that you can disable the widget of the climate in the bar of tasks of Windows 11 How? It is very simple and we will explain several methods to achieve it a little further down..

How to activate the weather or weather widget on the taskbar

We must consider that this weather widget is not available to everyone. If we want to live this experience we are going to have to use Albacore's ViveTool, which allows us to activate the function manually. For this we will have to download the latest version from GitHub.

Once the ZIP file is downloaded, we will have to right-click on the file explorer and choose the option "Extract all."

Next, we will click on "Browse"..

Now we are going to have to select the location Windows> System32 and then we will click on "Select folder" just in the lower right part of this window.

Once we choose the path, we will simply click on "Extract" so that all this content is moved to the folder we previously chose..

Now we are going to press the Windows key, type "cmd" and click "Run as administrator" in the right pane.

In the command prompt window, we are going to copy and paste the following codes individually, which means that we have to do it one at a time.

vivetool addconfig 36226456 2

vivetool addconfig 36226054 2

vivetool addconfig 34301415 2

The last step we are going to have to do is update the web experience package. In order to do so, we go to the Microsoft Store, change to the "Library" section and click on the "Update" button.

If we have the taskbar centered, we will see the widget on the left side. In case we decided to customize the start menu and taskbar on the left, the weather icon will replace the widget icon in the center.

Another thing we can do is directly uninstall the widgets, this is achieved by uninstalling the Windows web experience package. The first thing we will do is press the "Windows" key on our keyboard, type "cmd" and press "Enter"; in this way we are going to open command prompt.
