If you have a blank page at the end of your Word document, there could be different reasons for this and, accordingly, different approaches. We explain below how to find the cause and delete the blank page.

The simplest method : backspace

Click at the end of the document and press the [Backspace] key [ ] (the key above Enter) until the blank page disappears. If that doesn't work, try one of the following options:

Show the paragraph marks

To see what is causing the blank page, show the paragraph marks. Follow our step-by-step instructions , the quick start guide or the explanatory video .

1st step:

Activate the display of paragraph marks by pressing the key combination [Ctrl] + [Shift] + [8] or by clicking on the " " symbol under " Start " in the menu ribbon .

2nd step:

Now go to the blank page and remove the paragraph shown here by pressing the [ Del ] or [ Backspace ] key .

Select the appropriate paragraph mark and press the key combination [Ctrl] + [D] to open the " Font " dialog box . Check the box next to " Hidden " to remove the paragraph. Then click " OK ".

Deactivate the display of paragraph marks by pressing the key combination [Ctrl] + [Shift] + [8] or by clicking on the " " symbol under " Start " in the menu ribbon .

  2. Now go to the blank page and remove the paragraph shown here.

  2. Check the box next to " Hidden " to remove the paragraph.
