With PlayStation Plus you can use online functions or play exclusive games for free. However, if you no longer wish to use the service, you can simply cancel it through the Sony website or your console. We'll explain exactly how to do it.

Cancel PlayStation Plus subscription - via the website

When you cancel your subscription, the PlayStation Plus month will expire. You can use the rest of the time and do not immediately lose access to the services. However, you should remember to submit the cancellation in good time, otherwise the subscription will usually be automatically extended for another month.

1st step:

To do this, simply go to the Sony website and log in with your access data.

Now you get to the account management. On the left you will see the item " Subscription ". Current subscriptions, such as PlayStation Plus or PlayStation Now, are displayed in this category. Next to the item " PlayStation Plus " click on " Deactivate auto-renewal ". In the picture at hand, there is no longer a PlayStation Plus subscription, so no such option is displayed.

Cancel PlayStation Plus subscription - via a console

You can also cancel the subscription via a PlayStation console. How you can do this depends on the console:

  • For the PS4, you will need to select the PlayStation Plus option from the menu at the top . You can then " Switch off auto-renewal " via " Manage membership " and " Subscription ".
  • On the PS5 you have to go to the settings " Users and Accounts ". Here you can then access " Payment and Subscriptions " via " Account " . Under " Subscriptions " you will find " PlayStation Plus ", in which you can " Switch off automatic renewal ".

By the way: If you are interested in PlayStation Plus again, you can of course continue your subscription at any time. You can then book the service online via the PlayStation website or directly from your PS4 or PS5 for the PSN Store. If you are still in the period of your previous subscription, you can simply go to the relevant subscription page as described above and click on " Activate auto-renewal " next to " PlayStation Plus " . Then the service continues as usual.
