Translate a PDF with Google Translate
With Microsoft Word

Translating a PDF is not a very complicated task and in this article we are going to offer you two very simple methods so that you can translate any PDF document into any language..

Translate a PDF with Google Translate

We can use a fairly simple method like Google Translate . The first thing we will have to do is open Chrome and log in to our Google account in case we have not already done so.

image

At the top of the website, we will have to click on “Documents”, since we want to translate a PDF file..

image

Once we are in the "Documents" tab, in the left panel, we will have to choose the original language of the PDF. In case we are not sure of the original language, we can let Google recognize the language by leaving the “Detect language” option.

image

In the panel on the right, we will have to choose the language to which we want to translate the PDF. Once we complete this part, we will have to click on “Browse the computer” to open a file browser and be able to locate the PDF..

In this file explorer, we are going to have to navigate to the folder where we have the PDF saved and then double-click on it to be able to import it.

Next, we will have to click on the “Translate” button to be able to start the translation of the file in question.

Once finished, we will see the translation in the same browser window.

It is possible to copy the translated text, we can select it as we would in any other situation, then right click and select “Copy” in the menu. After this, we can paste it wherever we want.

With Microsoft Word

image

First we are going to locate our file in Windows, once we find it we are going to right click it and select Open with > Word. In case we do not see the Word option, we can click on “Choose another application” and search for it.

image

When opened in Word, we may see a message that the original formatting of the PDF may not be preserved. Simply, we are going to click on “Accept”.

image

In order to translate this PDF, we will first have to convert the document to the Word format, DOCX. To do this, we go to the upper left corner of the window and click on “File”.

image

It takes us to a new page, on the right side we will click on “Save as”. Then we choose "Browse".

image

Once we are in the “Save” window, we will have to choose a folder to save the file. We will write a name and click on “Save”.

image

The Word version of our PDF is now available and translation ready. So, we go to the top, we'll click "Review".

image

In the “Review” tab, we go to Language > Translate > Translate document.

image

We are going to see a “Translator” section on the right of the screen. In the “Document” tab, we will have to select the source language of our PDF, although we can leave it on auto detect if we do not know it. In the destination option, we choose the language we want to translate it. When we finish we click on “Translate”.

Word will create a new document with all the translated text, we can save the changes as if it were any other document.
