Turn off or disable passcode on iPhone

On many occasions we do not want to deactivate the passcode on iPhone because , thanks to it, we can prevent unauthorized people from using the device. However, it is not always necessary and we may want to disable this setting. Is it possible? It is totally possible and very easy to do..

Obviously, if we already have an access code, in order to disable it we will have to know it; we cannot unknowingly disable a device's passcode or password.

Turn off or disable passcode on iPhone

To get started, we're going to have to head over to Settings. Once we are here, we will have to go to the access code option. If we use iPhone X or higher, we will press on “Face ID & Passcode”. If we have an older iPhone model, we will click on “Touch ID & Passcode”. In case our iPhone does not have Touch ID, we simply click on Passcode”..

In the example that accompanies the article, we are going to click on “Touch ID & Passcode”.

Now we are going to see the “Enter access code” screen where, obviously, we will have to enter the password that we currently use..

On the next screen, we can disable the passcode from “Disable Passcode”.

A message will appear where it warns us of a couple of things, we simply click on "Turn off" and that's it.

Here it will ask us for the "Apple ID Password", we will have to write it, this is for security reasons. Once we did, click on “Deactivate”.

Next, we will have to enter the device key again.

Our iPhone will take us back to the password setup screen. Here we will no longer see “Deactivate access code”, instead, we will see the option “Enable access code”; this means that we have already disabled this function successfully.

Remember that without a password to unlock your device, anyone who has physical access to your device can use it and access all of your private information. We must feel comfortable with this sense and be sure not to save any kind of data of a private nature on our iPhone.
