Read QR code without a camera from the web
Using the Google app

Sometimes we will have to read a QR code , but we will be without a camera . What can we do? Actually, it is not difficult at all to read any QR code without the need to use a camera. This is ideal because on many occasions we do not have our mobile nearby or, directly, the device's camera does not work..

QR codes are very useful, they allow us to log in to apps like Discord, share Wi-Fi and many other interesting things. But what happens if our camera doesn't work? No need to worry, we can still read these codes.

Read QR code without a camera from the web

The first thing we will do is visit the QR website . If we are using a desktop browser, we will see a pop-up message requesting access to the camera, we simply press the X in the upper right part of this box..

In case we are entering from a mobile device, we will see a similar message. We just click Cancel.

Now we will have to click or tap on the camera icon that is on the right side of the empty box that appears on the web..

Here we will have to press Choose file.

We are going to browse through the files on our computer or mobile device until we find the QR code image, select it and click Open.

Web QR will display the "human readable" message embedded in the QR code. In this example, the QR code links to a website.

Using the Google app

We can also do it from the same Google application that comes pre-installed on all Android devices. We open the app and click on the camera icon.

If this is our first time doing this, we may need to grant permissions; We proceed to accept them to continue.

Next, we're going to have to press the Open Camera button.

We're not going to actually take any pictures, we're going to press the photo icon on the left side of the shutter button.

Again, if it is the first time we do it, we will have to allow access to all the photos.

We will choose the QR code image file on our device.

In this way, the application will be in charge of deciphering the code and will show us the results immediately. In case it contains a URL address, we can start it from the web browser.
