The solution is just as surgical, other than requiring a heat gun to remove the broken socket and replace it with another. Repairing the damaged socket can certainly be attempted, something that would lower the cost of repair, but it is quite difficult to do. The moral of this problem is to always use a good protector or case for your phone. In a mid-range or low-range cell phone, its construction in every sense is lower quality than high-end phones. They are more likely to fail after reasonable mistreatment.
