Twitter has just rolled out its new Fleet feature worldwide. Behind this barbaric name hides in fact an ephemeral tweet function that is reminiscent of the very popular stories on competing social networks..
Stories on social networks
In the world of social networks, a very strong trend has been emerging for several months: stories. This is the latest major innovation. No network, not even Twitter, can afford not to have such a feature.
Facebook users share no less than 1 billion stories per day. It is an absolutely colossal number. It's hard to miss, stories are everywhere. You yourself have certainly unknowingly viewed this type of content..
As a reminder, stories consist of photos, videos, sounds or texts that disappear after a given period (generally 24 hours). Unlike traditional posts like tweets, this type of format allows you to express thoughts or address your followers in a more personal way. You will find in the link opposite a method to create your first story on Instagram.
Publish your first Fleet
It was urgent for Twitter to launch its own story service. It's done with Fleets. Blue bird network users can now take advantage of a new ephemeral format to freely express their thoughts without the pressure of likes and retweets..
Visually, the Fleets look a lot like what you can find on Facebook, Instagram or Snapchat. The interface is very similar to what the competition offers. At the top of the window is a bar in which the different stories of its subscribers are displayed.
Nothing could be simpler to consult them, just click on the profile picture of one of your subscribers. The images, the videos will be displayed automatically on the screen of your smartphone. Importantly, the Fleets last 24 hours and can only be viewed by account subscribers.
Twitter provides the creator of the Fleets with various information. For example, the latter will be able to consult the list of subscribers who have viewed their Fleets. This key indicator will allow you to know the interest aroused by each of your stories. We will now see how to create a Fleet.
