Want to hear the same music across multiple Amazon Echo devices throughout the house? To set up a group for this:

Listening to the same music throughout the house with multiple Amazon Echo devices - this is possible with the multi-room function of the Alexa app. You can even adjust the volume of the devices independently. Have you not yet named your devices appropriately? Here we show you how to name the devices, for example according to rooms. If your devices already have matching names, you can continue with these instructions:

Set up a multiroom music group in the Alexa app

Follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at our quick start guide ..

1st step:

Open the Alexa app and tap on the three lines in the top left to go to the main menu .

2nd step:

In the main menu , select " smart home made".

3rd step:

In the Smart Home area, tap on " Groups " in the top center . You can create a new group by tapping the plus symbol .

4th step:

Tap on the bottom point " Amazon Multiroom Music Group ".

You will now be asked to define a group name . Select it from " Common Names " or come up with a name for your group and enter it in the field above. Then tap on " Next ".

Step 6:

You can now add the available devices to your group. Tap the devices individually. Note that all devices must be connected to the same WLAN !

7th step:

Your selected Echo devices are marked with a tick and you can confirm your selection with " Save ".

You will be redirected to this screen. The connection between the devices is established.

In the smart home area as your multiroom group now in " groups ". Try the command " Alexa. Play music in the house [or your group name] . "

Brief instructions: Set up a multiroom music group in the Alexa app

  1. Open the Alexa app and there the menu overview (☰).
  2. Tap on “ Smart Home ”. Select " Groups " in the middle and tap on the plus next to " Add group ".
  3. Now tap on “ Amazon Multiroom Music Group ”.
  4. Define a name for your group, such as " House ".
  5. Tap on the devices you want to select for your group (the check marks indicate which ones you have selected) and then on " Save ".
  6. The multiroom group has now been created and you can listen to music on several devices at the same time. Try the command “ Alexa. Play music in [group name]. "
