Would you like to watch a film but don't have a streaming subscription or can't find anything there? But don't you want to buy the film either? Apple's iTunes store also offers a rental function with which you can watch films conveniently and cheaply. We'll show you how to use the loan service.

How to rent movies from iTunes

Follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the quick start guide .

1st step:

Open iTunes and go to the iTunes store . Then select " Films " in the drop-down menu on the left . Then search or browse for the movie you want.

2nd step:

Once you have found the right film, click on it. The option " borrow " should now appear below the film cover . Please note, however, that not every film can be rented.

3rd step:

If the film is available for loan, click on " Rent ". You may then need to sign in with your Apple ID . You can then rent the film. Once you have successfully borrowed it, it will appear in your media library and you can stream it within 30 days on your PC, iPhone or iPad or even on Apple TV. After you have watched the film, the film will disappear from your media library after 48 hours.

  1. Start iTunes and go to the Store .
  2. Select " Movies " from the drop-down list .
  3. Select or find the movie you want from iTunes library. Note that the number of films that can be rented is limited.
  4. Once you have found the film, click on it. Then go to " borrow " below the film cover .
  5. If you haven't already, you will be asked to sign in with your Apple ID . The film will then be rented and will then be available in your media library. You can stream the film on your PC, iPhone, iPad or even Apple TV within 30 days. Rented films will disappear from your media library 30 days or 48 hours after they have been viewed for the first time.
