Change the spacing of the icons via the registry

Note : Under Windows 7 it was possible to set the distance via the user interface . Right-clicking on the desktop opens a menu. There you can make the settings under " Customize > Window color > Advanced display settings > Element symbol spacing ".

Open the path HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Control Panel \ Desktop \ WindowMetrics. Double- click the " IconSpacing " (horizontal change) or " IconVerticalSpacing " (vertical change) file .

Change the standard value " -1710 " to another value. Values ​​between " -480 " and " -2730 " are possible. Under Windows 7 and 8 , the value " 1125 " was used as the standard. A restart may be required for the change after saving.
