Do you have a Steam key for a game or a credit code? Then of course you should also redeem it. Fortunately, this is very easy to do via the desktop version of Steam. But be careful: it doesn't work with the app. You also need an active internet connection .

How to redeem a key in Steam

You will receive product keys or credit codes from Steam when, for example, you buy a license for a game in other online shops or receive a voucher for your credit. 1st step:

Open Steam as a desktop app. Then click on " + Add a game " at the bottom left and then select " Activate a product on Steam ... ".

2nd step:

A pop-up now opens in which you have to click on " Next> ".

3rd step:

You will now see the Steam Subscription Agreement. Read them carefully and then click on " Agree ".

4th step:

Now you can enter your product key in the field provided and click on " Next> ".

5th step:

Your key will then be checked and then redeemed for your account. If you have any problems, you should contact Steam Support.
