Would you like to buy content in the Nintendo eShop? Then you can simply top up your credit beforehand. You can find out how to do this here..
To buy a game in the Nintendo eShop, you need either credit or a linked payment method. You can buy the credit or a voucher for a game as a credit card in various shops. This includes electronics stores, but also some supermarkets. Such an eShop card will then contain a code that you can redeem in the eShop using your Nintendo Account. The procedure is slightly different depending on the console used.
No matter whether you want to redeem the credit or the eShop voucher on a normal Switch, a Switch Lite or a Switch OLED - the way is the same every time:
Tired of always having to buy new prepaid cards? You can also simply add a payment method such as a credit card or PayPal to your Nintendo Account. Then the appropriate amount will always be debited from this method. In this way you also avoid minimal remaining credit on your account. That's how it works:
Of course, you can still use your credit card on the older consoles with eShop. This includes all consoles of the Nintendo 3DS and 2DS families, as well as the Wii U. To do this, open the Nintendo eShop on the console using the yellow-orange shopping bag symbol. On the main page of the eShop you will find an icon that looks like a bank card with a plus. This is the button for " Add Credit ". You can now purchase credit for the eShop either with an eShop card or PayPal. Attention: No credit can be redeemed for even older consoles such as the Nintendo DSi or the Wii. The associated digital shop is offline, so no remaining credit can be used up.
