To buy a game in the Nintendo eShop, you need either credit or a linked payment method. You can buy the credit or a voucher for a game as a credit card in various shops. This includes electronics stores, but also some supermarkets. Such an eShop card will then contain a code that you can redeem in the eShop using your Nintendo Account. The procedure is slightly different depending on the console used.

Redeem Nintendo eShop credit on the Nintendo Switch

No matter whether you want to redeem the credit or the eShop voucher on a normal Switch, a Switch Lite or a Switch OLED - the way is the same every time:

Then the appropriate amount will always be debited from this method. In this way you also avoid minimal remaining credit on your account. That's how it works:

It's easy to set up the payment method if you're about to buy a game anyway. Open the game and select “ Proceed to the purchase screen. ” You can then choose which payment method you would like to use on the right-hand side .
