As of December 31, 2020, Adobe has discontinued support for Adobe Flash - formerly Macromedia Flash. The software has too big security gaps. Many websites have long since switched to other systems, for example HTML5. The Flash Player is even automatically deactivated in browsers. So you couldn't look at a Flash-based website at all. For security reasons, it makes sense to uninstall Flash or the Flash Player.

1st step:

Go to the Adobe official website and download the uninstaller for a Windows device or for a Mac . If necessary, select " Save file ". Then open the file.

2nd step:

A program window opens. Click on " Uninstall ". You may have to close your browser to do this.

3rd step:

The uninstallation may take a moment. Once this window appears, it is complete. You will then have to restart your computer again .

4th step:

It is possible that files remain on your computer. As such, these files have no meaning, but they should be deleted anyway, as garbage files eat up unnecessary storage space. You can find the files under Windows at the following file paths: C: \ Windows \ system32 \ Macromed \ Flash C: \ Windows \ SysWOW64 \ Macromed \ Flash \% appdata% \ Adobe \ Flash Player \% appdata% \ Macromedia \ Flash Player Simply enter the respective path into Windows Explorer at the top. Then delete the files and folders there to remove any remnants of Flash.

2. Close all software that is using Flash. This step is actually no longer necessary since Flash has been deactivated in almost every program.
3. Open the uninstaller software. Then you have to restart your computer.
4. Flash has now been successfully uninstalled. However, it can happen that residual files remain under Windows. These files are located in the following file paths:

Simply delete these files and folders to completely eject Flash from your computer.
