There are tons of programs you can use to create presentations. Whether it's PowerPoint or Prezi - creating and changing presentations is child's play. But Google Slides not only offers a desktop version, but also an app. Go through the presentation again quickly on the train or correct a mistake shortly before - you can use the app to make changes while you're on the move. And best of all: Google Slides is compatible with PowerPoint and you can easily open presentations that you created in the Office tool in Google Slides.

Desktop

Create a new presentation

1st step:

Log in to Google presentations with your Google access data ( https://www.google.de/intl/de/slides/about/ ). Then click on the " Empty " button at the top left.

2nd step:

Now give your new presentation a name in the top left . All changes are automatically saved as soon as you add them.

3rd step:

Then select a suitable design for your presentation on the right.

Add, delete or move slides

1st step:

To add a new slide, click the plus in the top left. Click the down arrow next to it to be able to choose different layouts for the slides.

2nd step:

To delete a slide, select it and click on " Slide " at the top . Then select " Delete Slide ".

3rd step:

If you want to move slides and change their order, click and hold a slide and drag it to the desired location.

Add text boxes, images and shapes

1st step:

To add a new text box , click the T icon at the top, then drag the box on the slide. You can then move, enlarge and reduce it as you wish. With a double click in the field you can write.

2nd step:

You can insert images by clicking on the corresponding symbol above. You can choose whether you want to upload it from your computer , search for a suitable picture on the Internet or even look for a picture in other Google applications such as Google Photos or Google Drive .

3rd step:

You can spice up your presentation with shapes or arrows . You insert these using the symbol with the circle and the rectangle. You can choose between a variety of shapes and move and adjust them as you like, just like the text field.

Add animation to a slide

Note : Animations can only be added in the desktop version, not in the app.

1st step:

To animate an image, right-click it and choose Animate . You can then choose various options for the animation, such as how and when the image should be animated and how long the animation lasts.

2nd step:

To animate slides, right click on a slide in your Google Presentation and select " Change transition ... ". Here, too, you can make various settings, just like when animating images.

Share presentations

When you are done with your Google presentation, you can share it. To do this, open your presentation and click on the yellow " Share " button at the top right.

Then enter the email addresses of the people you want to share the presentation with. You can use the stylus to specify whether these people can edit the Google presentation or just look at it. Then click on " Done ".

App

Create a new presentation

1st step:

You can create a new presentation by tapping the red button with the plus at the bottom right .

2nd step:

Go to the three-dot menu at the top right and select " Untitled Presentation " to give your presentation a suitable name.

3rd step:

Tap the three-dot menu again and select " Change design " to choose a different design.

Add, delete or move slides

1st step:

Add a new slide to your Google presentation by tapping on the icon in the lower right corner. You can then choose a suitable layout for your new slide.

2nd step:

Press and hold a slide until a blue bar appears at the top. Click there on the three-dot menu and then select " Delete " to remove the slide from your presentation.

3rd step:

To move slides, press and hold a slide and drag it to the desired location.

Add text boxes, images and shapes

1st step:

Tap the plus in the upper right corner and then select " Text " to add a new text field to your Google Presentation. You can then move it and adjust its size as you wish.

2nd step:

Tap the plus in the top right again and select " Picture " to add pictures to your slide. You can then choose whether you want to select a picture from your smartphone or take a new one with the camera .

3rd step:

Tap again on the plus in the upper right corner and then on " Shape ". You can then choose between various different shapes that you can add to your slide.

Share presentations

1st step:

When you are finished with your presentation and would like to share it, tap on the three-dot menu in the upper right corner and then select " Share and export ".

2nd step:

Then enter the email addresses of the people with whom you want to share the presentation and write a message if necessary. You can use the pen to determine whether people can edit your presentation or just look at it.
