Capturing from the screen of a Mac can come in handy from time to time. How to take a screen capture with sound

To record a screen with sound, you first need a tool that acts as a virtual sound card on your Mac. The software later forwards the sound of a program that your Mac would normally play through the speakers to the screen recording. There are a number of programs available for this, all of which work in a similar manner. We use Loopback for these instructions , which you can download for free. The tool can be used free of charge, but in the free version the quality of the redirected audio deteriorates after 20 minutes of use.

1st step:

Download the Loopback tool from the developer's website.

2nd step:

If you are opening Loopback for the first time, you will need to install it first. To do this, click on “ Install ” at the bottom right and follow the instructions. You will then be asked to enter your password so that a utility program can be installed.

3rd step:

You can now use loopback. First create a new diversion of the internal tone. To do this, click on " New Virtual Device " and assign a name above .

4th step:

Now you can specify which programs should be able to hear the sound on the screen recording. Then click on the " + " symbol next to " Sources ". All programs that you currently have open are suggested to you here, as well as some more special audio sources. If your desired source is not in the list, click on " Select Application ...
