The Google Play Store usually updates itself - like most apps and applications on your smartphone - automatically. However, if you find yourself having trouble with the store, you may be able to manually install an update that fixes problems (such as crashes or connection errors). If you have such problems with individual apps, you may need to update them directly.

Update the Google Play Store

1st step:

Open your Google Play Store and press your profile picture in the top right to open the menu .

2nd step:

Scroll down and select " Settings ".

3rd step:

Select the " Info " item .

4th step:

At the bottom you will find the item " Play Store Version ", which shows you the current version of your Play Store.

4th step:

If you tap on it, you will receive a message whether your Google Play Store is up to date. If not, you will be given the option to install the latest update .

Update apps and games

You have the option of installing updates for apps on your smartphone manually or automatically. You should definitely do this, because updates contribute to the security and stability of the apps. Follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the brief instructions .

1st step:

Open the menu via your profile picture and go to " Settings ".

2nd step:

Now press " Network Settings ". In the options that open, select " Update apps automatically ".

3rd step:

A window will now open. Here you can choose whether you want to update apps automatically and whether this should happen at any time or only via WiFi .

4th step:

If an app still does not update itself automatically , you can also update it manually by selecting " Manage apps and device " in the menu .

5th step:

In the overview you can see whether " Updates are available ". You can then either " View details " to update individual apps, or " Update all ".
