If you feel like creating a one-off playlist of some of your favorite songs on Spotify, you can add them to your queue. However, if you don't like your selection, you can clear your queue in seconds.

Delete individual songs from the Spotify queue

When playing a playlist, you cannot clear the queue entirely without stopping the playlist or playing another playlist. However, you can remove individual tracks from your queue..

Desktop version

1st step:

image
Click the queue icon in the lower right corner. This icon has three horizontal lines with a small play icon in the top left corner. Clicking this icon will take you to your Spotify queue. You will see a list of your currently playing songs as well as the next songs that Spotify will play. To remove a title from the queue on your PC or Mac, move the mouse pointer over a title in the queue and select the menu icon with the three dots to the right of it.

2nd step:

image
Then select the option " Remove from queue " in the menu . This will remove the song from your queue. If you remove such a track from your playlist queue, it will only be skipped - the track will remain in your playlist and can be played in the future.

Smartphone app

1st step:

image
Open the Spotify app on your smartphone or tablet and log in there. Then, from the playback menu, tap the queue icon in the lower right corner. The queue list shows the current and upcoming tracks for your linked devices.

2nd step:

You now have to select all the songs here that you want to remove from your queue. To do this, tap on the round icon next to the song you want to remove. Then tap the " Remove " button at the bottom of the menu. This will remove the song from your queue. The songs you removed will remain in your playlist, but Spotify will skip them during this session.

Delete all songs from the Spotify queue

If you've manually added songs to your Spotify queue, you can delete them all at once.

Desktop version

1st step:

image
During playback in the Spotify application, click the queue button located in the lower right corner (icon with three lines). You can see the current track here and below it the section " Next track in queue ", which shows the tracks that will be played next. Next to this section you will also see the button " Delete queue ". Click on it.

2nd step:

Confirm with "Yes" that you want to delete your queue. All titles from the queue are then removed. However, tracks from your playlist remain even if you empty the queue.

Smartphone app

1st step:

image
Open the Spotify app on your smartphone and log in to your account if necessary. Then tap in the playback menu on the symbol for the queue , which is shown at the bottom right. There you will see the currently playing song and below all other tracks that are to be played in the future.

2nd step:

If you have manually added songs to your queue, they will be listed in the " Next song in queue " section at the top of the queue list. Here tap on the " Delete queue " button . All manually added songs listed here will be deleted.
