Facebook has become an indispensable part of everyday life for many people. But that doesn't mean that the social network should constantly bombard your computer or smartphone with notifications or messenger updates. If you feel bothered by the push notifications, you can simply deactivate all Facebook notifications. You can find out how to do this on a PC and smartphone in this article.

Turn off Facebook notifications on the PC

Log in to Facebook, click on the triangle symbol in the upper right corner and then on " Settings and privacy ".

Open the Facebook app on your smartphone, then tap on the menu symbol in the lower right corner and then on " Settings and privacy ".

To deactivate the notifications, set the slide switch to the left position. You have to switch off each type of notification individually. Unfortunately, there is no function to switch off all notifications at once.

  1. Open the Facebook website and log into your account with your email address and password.
  2. Now click on the triangle symbol at the top right.
  3. Go to " Settings and Privacy " and then to " Settings ".
  4. Now select " Notifications " in the menu bar on the left .
  5. Here you can switch off the notifications for the respective categories individually. Unfortunately, there is no function to switch everything off with one click. Under " How to receive notifications ", however, the browser, SMS and e-mail notifications can be completely deactivated.

Quick guide: App

  1. Open the Facebook app on your smartphone and tap the menu symbol in the lower right corner.
  2. Scroll down and tap Settings & Privacy , then Settings .
