By default, images in emails in Microsoft Outlook are not automatically downloaded. Most of the time, you can see the frame of the pictures in the email messages, but you won't see the pictures themselves. There is a good reason for this too, as they could be a threat to your privacy. Some content can even compromise the security of your computer. Therefore, you should carefully consider whether you want to allow the automatic download of images.

Manually download images in Outlook

You can manually download images for individual messages if you trust the sender:

1st step:

Open the desired e-mail in Outlook and click there on the note above, which says " Click here to download images ". Then select the " Download Pictures " option from the menu .

2nd step:

All images of the message will then be downloaded and displayed.

Download pictures in Outlook for specific email addresses

You can also have images in emails from trusted senders automatically downloaded:

1st step:

Open an email from the desired sender in Outlook. Click on the note at the top that says " Click here to download images " and then select " Add senders to safe senders list " from the menu .

2nd step:

Images from all emails from this sender are now automatically downloaded and displayed.

Download pictures in Outlook for all messages

You also have the option to allow automatic image download for all emails:

1st step:

Open any email in Outlook and click the " Click here to download images " notice at the top . Then select the entry " Change settings for automatic download ... " from the menu .

2nd step:

A new window will open in which you will find the settings for the automatic download. Here you will see the "Do not automatically download images in standard HTML messages or RSS items" option . This setting is activated by default and is provided with a corresponding warning. We do not recommend deactivating this setting as it is a protection against spam and malware. But if you are sure, uncheck and deactivate the option. Then click OK "to save the changes. All images from received emails will then be downloaded automatically.
