How to disable it
Disable visual search for specific websites

Visual search in Microsoft Edge allows us to search for images on different websites through the Bing search engine. It is integrated into the browser and is a very useful feature for anyone who frequently searches for images..

Enable visual search button in Microsoft Edge

image

The first thing we will do is open Edge and click on the three ellipses in the upper right corner, we will select "Settings" in this drop-down menu.

image

Once we are in Settings, we go to the left sidebar and click on “Appearance” and then in the right panel, we will click on “Visual search” in the “Context menus” section..

image

Next, we are going to enable the “Show visual search in context menu” and “Show visual search on hover over image” options. The first adds the option to perform the visual search from the context menu of the right mouse click; the second gives us the possibility of passing the mouse over any image to be able to search for it in Bing.

How to disable it

image

We will have to click on the three points in the upper right corner of the screen and choose "Settings" from the drop-down menu..

image

In the left sidebar, we will have a large number of options; the one that interests us is the one that says “Appearance”. By clicking on this section, we will see a text that says "Contextual menus", a little further down we will have to click on "Visual search".

From this section, we will have to deactivate the option “Show visual search in the context menu” to be able to eliminate the visual search option from the right-click menu. If we deactivate the option “Show visual search when hovering over the image”, we will also deactivate the option to visually search images in the browser.

Disable visual search for specific websites

We can also disable this option for specific websites. For this we go to Settings > Appearance and click on the “Add” button next to “Visual search is disabled for these sites”.

image

Next, we will have to type or paste the URL of the website on which we want to disable visual search. After adding the address, we will click on “Add”. In this way the browser will not show this option on the specified website.

In case we change our mind later. We return to the same section and click on the trash can icon that is on the right side of the specific website.
