It's not complicated at all to attach a folder to an email on Windows, Mac, iPhone and Android. In the following guide we will see how we should proceed in each operating system..
Attach a folder to an email from a computer
On computers it is something too simple, we are simply going to have to compress the file in a ZIP or RaR with WinRAR. Obviously in case of using WinRAR we will have to have the software installed from its official website , it is free.
If we are in Windows, we right click on the folder and choose Send to > Compressed folder (in ZIP) to create a ZIP file. In the case of using WinRAR, we right click it and click on “Add <folder name>.rar”
On Mac we do it in a similar way, we right click on the folder, we choose “Compress” and then we will find the ZIP file in the same folder..
In order to send this file via email, we will do it just like any other kind of file. If we are in Gmail, we are going to click on “Compose” to write a new email. At the bottom of “New message”, we will have to click on “Attach files” and we will look for the ZIP file that we created previously.
from Android
On most Android devices we can use the built-in file manager that comes pre-installed. We open the file manager and look for the folder we want to send. We hold down the folder, press the three points that appear in the upper right corner and choose "Compress"..
In this way, we have already created a compressed file that will be in the same directory as the original folder.
The next thing will be to open, for example, Gmail and click on the Attach icon and select “Attach file”. Now we will simply look for the compressed folder and that's it.
How to attach a folder to an email on iPhone
We can also use the built-in file manager for this, we open the iOS file app and find the folder we want to send; we leave it pressed for a few seconds and choose "Compress". Next, we will select the newly created ZIP file and go to the lower left corner, click on the share button.
In this menu, we are going to choose the email application that we want to use. Once we choose it, we simply attach the file like any other and that's it.
