Twitter, currently "X", is the app that I use the most on my Android cell phone. Unfortunately, for several days now it has been experiencing technical problems. Specifically, there is a malfunction of the "Back" button, both the app button and the Android system's Back button..
Basically, when you press the Back button within the app, it freezes and closes, or simply returns to the news feed. This usually happens after opening multimedia, such as photos or videos, in the app. The same thing happens when using the Back button in the Android navigation bar. This does not happen with other applications on the cell phone.
I have applied all the following generic solutions to resolve problems in an Android app :
- Kill the application and reopen it.
- Clear the app cache or all its data.
- Restart the phone.
- Update the app or install the APK from a previous version .
Unfortunately, none of this has resolved the "Back" button problem on my Samsung Galaxy A52 cell phone..
Apparently it is not a problem with a particular version of the application, since I have already tried with version 10.9, 10.11 (current) and 10.12 beta of X and the problem persists.
Use the X webapp
At the moment I am using the web version of Twitter, having installed its webapp on my phone, which does not present any problems either with the Back button within its navigation or with the Back button in the system..
To install the X webapp, go to the twitter.com website from the Chrome browser. Tap the three-dot button at the top right and click on the “Add to home screen” option. This will add the X icon to the app drawer and from there you can drag it to the desktop as a shortcut.
