Conversions are actions that the client performs on the website, it is a click to which we will interpret it as an example action: a sale was made, an email was sent, a product was sold or an offer was purchased. These clicks are interpreted as business actions.

The goal of a conversion is to associate a keyword or ad to a business goal that we want to follow up with.

Set up conversion tracking
Login to your Google Adword account and select Tools & Analysis> Conversions from the menu .

In the Conversion tab select the option + Conversion . Enter the name of the conversion, this should be the conversion action example "Sale made" , "Registration in Marketing Course".

Then we must select the conversion category to describe what is the action that represents the click sale, subscription, potential customer, visit a key page.

The markup language option allows the compatibility between devices since Javascript is not the same for a computer as for a mobile, if it is a web we will select HTML or XHTML.

You can also choose a conversion value if the value is fixed, such as a subscription, you can give it, for example, a value of 20 euros and thus account for the benefits that conversion produces.

A notification of statistics of the Google site (Google Site Stats) that the user will see a message that indicates that it is being monitored and that the conversions are active, this system is optional.

At the end of the configuration and save the changes, the Javascript code is obtained to insert in the page in which the tracking will be done,

So for example if I want to track a purchase, insert the Javascript code on the page where the purchase operation ends, usually on the page where the user is thanked for the purchase.

Conversions can also be followed from Google Analytics by linking the Adword account.
Google Analytics allows you to track conversions for both Google Adword and organic.

Google Analytics is the perfect complement to the tracking and analysis of conversions as it provides more information about the origin of the click.

To link a Google Analytics website with conversions in Adword, we go to the Google Analytics account and go to the Administrator menu> Configure account> Configuration to share data.

After approximately 48 hours we will go to the Adword account and in the menu Tools and Analysis> Conversions, you will see a message that will allow you to import the data from Google Analytics as conversion objectives.

Something to keep in mind to avoid an erroneous analysis is that there may be differences in the data of Adword and Analytics for example if I visit the web several times from Adword will only count a visit the first time, if I do from Analytics will count visits every time enter the web, which could be misinterpreted as many visits and little conversion.
