If the next major iOS update offers a Dark mode, Facebook already offers it to its users on Messenger. We explain how to activate it.
After appearing in the form of an Easter Egg, the Dark mode has recently become available on Messenger. Facebook says that this new mode allows you to continue to enjoy its messaging application even in the case of reduced brightness. The display remains contrasting and lively, but attacks the eyes of users less.
The Dark Messenger mode is particularly interesting for owners of iPhone OLEDs, such as the iPhone X, Xs and iPhone Xs Max, since the mode helps conserve battery life. Indeed, displaying black pixels on an OLED panel consumes much less energy.
To activate the mode, it's very simple. Just go to the Messenger app and tap your profile photo in the upper left corner.
Then, in the new window, drag the "Dark mode" option to activate it, and voila.
If you don't see the option, try updating your Messenger app. You can also try to restart your iPhone and redo the steps.
