Well, as the headline says: if I enter any name or phrase in the search bar, nothing comes up; no result, no error message.

Idea what's wrong or what I can do?

Quit mail. First drag the following files from the named folder onto the desktop:
  • Envelope index,
  • Envelope Index-shm
  • Envelope Index-wal
These should be found here in EC:
Code:
~/Library/Mail/V3/MailData

The quick way to get there:
Finder> Go> Go to folder
or cmd + shift + G in the Finder
and enter or copy and paste the content from the above code window.

Restart Mail. Mail now has to rebuild the database, depending on the situation, it may take a while, since it has to reload.

If everything went well, you can delete the files on the desktop.

And what have you already tried to troubleshoot?

Mail restarted?

Computer restarted?

Re-index Spotlight?

System settings / Spolitght / Search results times 'checked'?

There times removed the hook for bookmarks and history?

I would not have associated Spotlite with it. This is also totally crazy: instead of search results, results from the lexicon are displayed. : confused:Then found out that the normal search does not work either. I re-indexed as instructed. Restart. Search works again. Spotlite still only shows lexicon entries. I started the procedure with the envelope files in Mail; should take about 10 hours according to the current status.

Can I repair / reinstall Spotlite?
Spotlite is the light version of Spotlight - it only shows the lexicon ;)
