Microsoft announced Windows 11 on June 24, 2021. Windows users can download the long-awaited upgrade for free. The new version was released on October 5th. It is not yet certain when you will upgrade your laptop. Microsoft announced at the event that Windows 11 has a new design and new features. We'll tell you more about the new Windows operating system in this article.
What does Windows 11 look like?
The new look of Windows 11 is immediately noticeable. The semi-transparent windows and the newly designed icons make the screen look calmer. Windows 11 has rounded corners and that gives it a modern look. You'll also notice that the iconic Start menu no longer appears in the lower left corner of your screen. The window opens in the middle of the screen. Don't you like this change? Simply undo the setting in the settings and then in the personalization.
What are the most important innovations?
In addition to the new look, Windows 11 offers these 5 important innovations:
- Download not only Windows apps, but also Android apps from the Amazon App Store.
- More options for gamers, e.g. B. a larger selection of games and better picture quality.
- A new screen for all widgets. Here you will also find additional additions, such as touch and voice control.
- Microsoft Teams is standard in Windows 11 for all of your digital conversations and collaborations.
- Customize more and use themes that suit you.
How to Download Windows 11
There is no start date for Windows 11 yet. Microsoft is expected to release the upgrade in late 2021. For both laptops and PCs, depending on the brand and model, when the new version is available. Windows Update will automatically notify your PC or laptop when Windows 11 is ready. We do not recommend installing beta versions because the operating system is not yet stable enough. The chance of unexpected problems is great.
What are the system requirements?
Microsoft will later release a PC Health Check app that you can use to check whether your current PC or laptop is ready for Windows 11:
- Processor: one gigahertz or faster, 2 cores and a 64-bit processor or SoC.
- RAM: at least 4 gigabytes.
- Storage space: at least 64 gigabytes.
- Graphics card: DirectX 12 or higher.
- Display: 720 pixels minimum on a screen of 9 inches or more.
- Connection: a Microsoft account and an internet connection.
