Buy films via the YouTube app

Tip : You can buy films and series in the YouTube app via in-app purchases . Apple charges a fee for such purchases, which means that purchases in the YouTube app on the iPhone are more expensive than via the website. We therefore recommend that you buy films and series best through the YouTube website . As long as you are logged into the YouTube app with the same Google account, you can watch the film on your iPhone and save some money.

1st step:

In the YouTube app, tap the magnifying glass icon at the top to open the search. Then find a movie that you want to buy.

2nd step:

In addition to trailers and the like, you will find a special area for the film in the search results . In it, tap on " Buy ". If the movie you want to buy isn't listed here, it's probably not currently available on YouTube.

3rd step:

If necessary, you can now select the version with the desired resolution . This option is not available for every title, but the lower resolution can often save you a few pounds. For the version you want, tap the blue button .

4th step:

Payment for the film is the same as for a normal in-app purchase . This means that the purchase of Android devices is billed through the Google Play Store . The payment source stored in the App Store is charged on the iPhone . Follow the instructions from Google or Apple to confirm the payment. Attention : If you authorize the payment with this, the purchase will be carried out directly. You cannot cancel the process afterwards.

5th step:

You can now play the film at any time by searching for it or by tapping on the " Media library " item in the toolbar at the bottom right and then opening the " Purchases " or " My films and series " folder . All of the videos you have purchased will be displayed there.

Buy films on the YouTube website

There are two ways to find films and series on the YouTube website: either use the YouTube films page to browse through what is on offer, or search directly for a specific title.

1st step:

You can reach the YouTube films page either via the link youtube.com/movies or by clicking on " Films and Series " in the sidebar on the left of the home page . Here you can browse through the offer or take a look at recommendations especially for you. Click on a film to go to its overview page.

2nd step:

Alternatively, you can use the search function to search for specific titles. These then appear directly in the search results together with trailers and the like. Again, click on a film to buy it in the next step.

3rd step:

On the left you can see the trailer for a film. Click on the " Buy " button to the right of it .

4th step:

If necessary, you can now select the resolution in which you would like to purchase a title. The option is not available for all films, but the lower resolution can often save you some money. Click the resolution you want to buy.

5th step:

You then have to select a payment method if you have not already saved it in your Google account. You can use a credit card, my paysafecard or PayPal for this. Follow the instructions and click on " Pay Now ". This confirms the purchase.

6th step:

You can now play the film or series as often as you like. Simply search for it using the search function or go to the YouTube page youtube.com/purchases . There you can see all the videos you have bought at a glance.

1. In the YouTube app, find a movie that you want to buy.
2. In the search results in the section for the film, tap the " Buy " button.
3. If necessary, select the resolution in which you would like to purchase the film.
4. Pay for the film like a normal in-app purchase via the Google Play Store or Apple App Store .
5. You can find purchased films either via the search function or via the toolbar by tapping on " Media library " and " Purchases " or " My films and series ".

1. Find a movie or go to the YouTube Movies page . You can reach them under the link youtube.com/movies or under the item " Films and Series " in the sidebar.
2. Click on a film for more information about it.
3. On the overview page, click on " Buy " on the right .
4. If necessary, select the desired resolution of the film.
5. Select a payment method and click on " Pay now ".
6. You can then find the purchased film using the search function or the youtube.com/purchases page .
