The activation of an automatic reaction from smartphones or tablets to "OK Google" or "Hey Google" is very easy to set up. All you have to do is edit a setting in the Google app and train the Google Assistant on your voice. Activate "OK Google" on Android

Follow our step-by-step instructions , the quick start guide or the explanatory video .

1st step:

Open Google wizard on your phone and tap Get the top right of your profile picture to the settings to open the wizard.

2nd step:

Now switch to the " Assistant " tab and scroll down. There you then tap on the button " Smartphone ".

3rd step:

Now select the setting " Hey Google " under " Voice Match " .

4th step:

Then tap on " Next ".

5th step:

Now tap on " I agree " to give your consent that your smartphone can listen to your " Ok Google " at any time, even when it is locked .

6th step:

Now follow the instructions on the display and say " Ok Google " or " Hey Google " several times .

7th step:

If voice recognition was successful, tap " Next ".

8th step:

You can now start the Google assistant with the command " Ok Google ".

Activate "OK Google" in Chrome

Unfortunately, you cannot activate the Google Assistant in Chrome with your language alone. However, you can already use the voice assistant with the browser - on Windows devices and on the Mac.
By the way : Unfortunately, you cannot use other web browsers with the Google Assistant at the moment. The corresponding field for starting the voice search is simply not available there..

Open Chrome on your Windows computer or Mac and click the microphone icon on the home screen .

Now you may have to allow the Google Assistant to access your microphone . Then you can just speak and ask the voice assistant something.

Activate "OK Google" on the iPhone - is that possible?

So far, it is unfortunately not yet possible to activate the Google Assistant on the iPhone with a call word - this is currently only possible with Siri. However, you can still use Google's voice search. For example, download the Google app from the App Store and open it. You can then tap the microphone symbol directly on the start page to start the wizard.

1. Open the Google Assistant and tap your profile picture in the top right corner .
2. Scroll down the Assistant tab and tap Smartphone .
3. Then go to " Hey Google " under " Voice Match ".
4. Now tap on " Next " and then on " I agree ".
5. Now you have to follow the introduction and say " OK Google " or " Hey Google " several times during the process . This is how your voice will be recognized. The recording is then complete, so you can always use the voice command " OK Google " to activate the Google Assistant.
